!NOTE: The San Luis Obispo Tirbune of July 2, 1909, has the
following article, datelined Chorro:
"...Hope school has closed for the spring term. Most of the pupils
were successful in passing the county school examinations. Those that did
not pass the examinations were pupils that attended school very
irregularly. The eighth grade graduated with very good standing. Miss
Alice Nelson the teacher has taught a very successful term as was also the
fall term which she also taught. She is pleased to note that her pupils
have taken advantage of her energies, which has placed the school on a
very good standing."
